Fisk Marine Insurance International is celebrating successful appearances at two recent industry-facing events. Visitors in New Orleans recently had two opportunities to meet us and learn more about the solutions we provide for commercial sea operations.

The first appearance was at the 2015 Underwater Intervention conference, held in the Morial Convention Center, where visitors had the chance to meet professionals in various fields related to commercial ships, divers and equipment.

Representatives from Fisk were present on the convention floor at booth #223, near Deep Ocean Engineering, Blackwater Vision and Airgas Gas and Equipment, among other similar companies. Everything from manufacturing businesses to dive teams have been represented at this event over the years, and Fisk was a natural fit with the other industry experts in attendance.

The Underwater Intervention event was mentioned in New Orleans City Business, which commented on a presentation from Dennis Gallagher of the Naval Surface Warfare Center. He spoke about the need for "smart" helmets that could help Navy divers read important information while submerged. It's an important issue for underwater workers, who often have difficulty seeing while diving in clouded waters.

During the conference period from February 10-12, approximately 200 people joined us at our annual Seafood Boil gathering at the Howlin' Wolf. It was both a break from the convention and a chance for visitors to enjoy the cultural highlights of the city.

Be sure to check this blog often for more news about upcoming events and appearances. Next on our list is the WorkBoat Maintenance & Repair Conference and Expo, also at the Morial Convention Center, from April 14-16, which will continue our association with New Orleans. More information, including an official press release, can be found on the event's website.
